About Us

holophon.ca is a non-profit, volunteer-driven, artist-run audio arts organization operating out of Regina Saskatchewan, Canada. This year holophon.ca will be entering its third year of programming. Since 2008 holophon.ca has organized events in Regina and Saskatoon in a variety of venues, including a brewpub, a legion hall, and a black-boxed theater in the round, and several art galleries. Each of our shows has a unique artistic theme, and is usually organized by a guest curator who has involvement and experience in a cultural or artistic community that we want to engage with.

We are an enthusiastic and creative audio arts organization that looks for ways to unite all artists (including visual, film, dance, music, literary/poetry, and digital artists) under the umbrella of "sound". Our main goal is to encourage the creation of artwork that considers sound as an important component, to further discussions around listening, and the development of sound as an artform within the prairies. We look for ways to build the Saskatchewan arts community, but we also want to be a venue for the promotion and contextualization of Saskatchewan's audio art to the rest of Canada's audio art scene. We do things differently, and we like that. We thank the Saskatchewan Arts Board for its support.
